Who Is Derek Hough’s Mother?

Marriann Hough shares five children with her former husband, Bruce Hough: Sharee, Marabeth, Katherine, Derek and Julianne. Derek is Marriann and Bruce’s only son and the second youngest child, while Julianne is the youngest.

During the Las Vegas finale of his Symphony of Dance: Encore tour in August 2026, Derek invited Marriann onto the stage. Parade reported that both became emotional as they embraced and he recalled those early dance classes.

The moment gave the audience a chance to see the woman behind the childhood story. Derek mixed jokes about his initial reluctance with an affectionate thank you, ending by telling his mother he loved her.

Marriann also attended the Dancing With the Stars Season 34 finale on November 25, 2025. She posed with Derek and Julianne and shared glimpses of the evening through Instagram Stories. She wore a light blue dress that evening.
